Flower City Came Out Hot
Both teams had their share of possession and attempts on goal, but Flower City 1872 got going early. They capitalized on a loose pass in the midfield and toe-poked home a goal in the 7th minute of action. Just a few minutes later, Flower City was on the attack again, getting in behind the Steel City backline and finding the back of the net once again to double their lead inside of 15 minutes of action.
Steel City controlled most of the play in the first half despite the deficit, but was unable to put anything in the back of the net. A few well-worked possessions led to some shots just off frame, as well as some well-hit corners that landed just out of reach.
Much of the same in the second half, Steel City had a few half-chances but were unable to find a clear opening through the Flower City Backline. Who were putting their bodies on the line to block any and every attempt SCFC threw their way.
